Start with a vector master
Keep the primary artwork in SVG, PDF, or another editable vector format. Create horizontal, stacked, symbol-only, and monochrome variants rather than forcing one layout into every placement.
Export for the actual placement
Website headers often need a wide, shallow logo, while profile images need a square composition. Favicons require a very simple symbol. Export raster files at the platform’s requested dimensions and at higher pixel density when appropriate.
Protect clear space
Define a minimum clear area around the logo and a minimum readable size. Test on mobile screens, dark mode, browser tabs, email signatures, social avatars, documents, and print before approving the set.
